About Us
The Race Issues Group is a
multi agency panel that deals with racist incidents in the
area of Cheshire, Halton & Warrington. It was started in
order to bring together agencies in the area to look at
common ways of tackling racism in the area and to develop
a co-ordinated reporting system in line with the Stephen
Lawrence Inquiry recommendations.
Since it started in 1999 the group has developed a common
racist incident reporting form, raised awareness of the
importance of reporting racist incidents through
conferences and seminars and helped member agencies share
good practice.
